KEEP GOING; DON’T STOP

Have you ever been lethargic that you don’t even feel like doing what you like doing most? Nothing can be more real, but you know what? Keep going; don’t stop.

My best moment is when I am writing but there are times I get weary and I struggle to find my words. At such moments, something keeps me going.

Today, with her permission, I want to share the testimony of one of my ardent readers. Her name is Seyifunmi Kolawole, she’s also a writer. The next few paragraphs are her words.

“Dear Sir, 🤍

I think it is a beautiful time to be in your space again.

It recently dawned on me that I met you physically for the first time on June 4th, 2022; over three years ago. We had a review session for Winning Strategies at Peace Shores, Mum Babafemi’s place. It was there you gave your first book to young adults and teenagers for free.

It’s funny how I didn’t get to truly hold this book then the way I do now. Mum read it first, and it was passed on to another book lover. That was about three years ago, and I only got it back recently.

I loved books around that time, but not as deeply as I do now. If I had this level of passion then, I probably wouldn’t have agreed to let it go.

So, what is this long talk for?

I am here to tell you, with absolute clarity, that if there is one person whose life you have impacted, it is me.

I have learned from you and I still do. I read your weekly articles faithfully, no matter how long they are. I have read Winning Strategies repeatedly, not less than three times.

I got the book – My Thoughts – back on Wednesday, and I have been sitting with it since. I went off social media at the start of today and made it my companion. I must have highlighted a major part of it though! And it’s so certain I’ll keep reading it; even in years to come.

I am not saying this to flatter you. You are a major blessing to me, and you always will be.

Your – 365 Day Quote – book has also been with me, right there on my school table. I had to take it from Mum because I didn’t get the chance to buy my own copy.

I honestly don’t think your books will ever stop being on my shelf. As it stands now, it will take a very strong conviction for me to lend them out.

2025 has been beautiful with you in it. Your books and writings made it even more meaningful.

I have spent tangible time with them, and I have been shaped positively. My perspectives have shifted because I chose to sit with your books.

Thank you for impacting my life, even unconsciously. I am grateful that I met you that year, and I will never stop learning from you. You are truly a great role model and a teacher.

Compliments of the season, Sir. God bless you.

Warm regards”

End of quote.

I thought I was just finding pleasure in my passion when I write. Soon it dawned on me that it’s much more than that. I’ve been to places where people whom I don’t know call my name and say to me they follow me on social media and read all my write ups.

It got me thinking. If your name is not traveling faster than you, you may be doing well for yourself but you may not be making the desired impact on the world around you. None of us is created for ourselves alone.

Your impact on humanity begins to count when you can be identified by what you have done more than what you can do. One is an achievement, the other is a potential. You cannot build reputation on expectation.

The best form of gratification is knowing that you are impacting lives. Seyifunmi has just added an impetus to my hunger for writing. I make this solemn pledge that I will not stop writing.

Do you feel weary sometimes? Keep going; don’t stop. What drives you may not make sense to others at first but if you are convinced, trudge on until the result needs no explanation.

March is here. Keep marching on.
